ACADEMIC PREPARATION

Students receive after school and summer training, tutoring, enrichment courses and programs, academic assistance and planning.

What is Academic Preparation

Academic preparation is the foundation of the college and career experience. Students who work more effectively with good time management skills in high school will reduce their stress during the college process and in their careers.

Part of being prepared means taking advantage of the opportunities available in high school. Hard work and a focus on achieving high academic standards in high school will help with secondary education.

It’s best to begin the college and career process early as preparation is important. There are countless details involved in the college admissions process, and gaining the knowledge necessary in a timely manner is crucial to ultimately making the final decision on where to attend colleges and trade schools.

COLLEGE GRADUATES WITH A BACHELOR’S DEGREE TYPICALLY EARN 66 PERCENT MORE THAN THOSE WITH ONLY A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA; AND ARE ALSO FAR LESS LIKELY TO FACE UNEMPLOYMENT.

HOW DOES IT WORK

C-CREO Gear Up ensures that students are at grade level by critical grades (8th and 10th) so they can take college prep classes in high school. After school, evening, weekend and summer extended learning programs are offered at C-CREO Gear Up locations. Summer transition programs prepare students for high school and college.

C-CREO Gear Up incorporates a proven effective applied learning STEM curriculum, the MetroMatematicas Learning Lab Program. This program involves local industries, and utilizes an applied practice curriculum that employs current technology so students apply their new skill set to real world scenarios. C-CREO Gear Up also uses Six Sigma as a project-based practicum that helps students solve problems using the following methodology: define, measure, analyze, improve and control.
