C-CREO HUB

C-CREO Hub is a college and career access center funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Gear Up Grant. The Santa Cruz County School Superintendent’s Office was awarded a seven-year partnership grant in the amount of $4.25 million to follow a cohort of students from the year 2018 – 2025. C-CREO Hub, located in the Santa Cruz Center, is designed to assist students and their families with post-secondary awareness and readiness. The Hub offers services and activities in various formats: one-on-one appointments, walk-ins, school and community groups, and outreach. All C-CREO Gear Up and Hub services are free of charge. Services include college and career awareness lessons, parent workshops, peer mentoring, college and career field trips, and summer programs. Topics involve financial planning, applications and resumes, career identity, life skills, and adolescent development. The C-CREO Hub is a College and Career Access Center located at the Santa Cruz Center that provides services and work stations for students and parents to plan all aspects of post-secondary readiness.

Job shadowing and mentoring are essential activities as are tours of businesses and colleges where all students can interact with professionals they can relate to. Activities at the C-CREO Hub are planned so that students are introduced to all types of higher education and believe themselves to be future college students.
